Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why horses?

As prey animals, horses are keenly aware of their environment and everything in it. That’s how they’ve survived for thousands of years. They are experts at non-verbal communication and continually monitor every situation they are in. The honest and immediate feedback we receive from them mirrors and reflects what is going on inside of us.This allows us to examine our ways of being and explore different options.
  • Will we be riding the horses?

No, all our workshops and sessions are conducted on the ground.
  • I’m very familiar with horses. Will I still benefit from working with them?

Yes. Interacting with horses on the ground is a very different dynamic than you have when you’re riding. When the horse, untethered, has the choice to stay or go, the relationship between horse and human becomes a reflection of other relationships in our lives. Whether you work with horses all the time or have never been around them, they’ll teach you many life lessons.
  • What if I’m afraid of horses or just don’t like them?

Plenty of people are afraid of horses. They are large creatures with whom many of us are not familiar. No one will be forced or coerced to participate in any activities. You can learn a lot from simply observing, but our clients have found that the experience of overcoming their anxiety has positive influences in other areas of their life.
  • What can I expect in a session?

Sessions are conducted outside in a pasture or arena and all activities are conducted on the ground. You’ll engage in a variety activities with the horse(s) which promote communication, problem solving skills and interpersonal skills and more.
  • How will this help my bottom line?

Experience is the best teacher and learning with the horses is an experience that stays with you long after you’ve left the arena. Consider this–if just one person who earns $60K in your company learns something that allows them to do their job 5% better and you paid even as much as $500 for them to attend a workshop, your return on investment is 600%!
  • What about the weather?

We offer both outdoor and covered arena options for our clients. No matter which location you choose, workshops and sessions are held rain or shine. We’re blessed with pretty good weather most of the year in Texas, but if we should get some that’s not so nice we look at it metaphorically–there are certainly good and bad days in business and in life–and ask that you dress appropriately.
  • What should I wear?

Feel free to wear whatever you like that is comfortable and casual and also safe around horses. Our Texas weather ranges from hot to cold & windy, so be sure to dress for the weather. Tennis shoes, boots or other closed-toe shoe are required. No sandals or flip-flops please.
